Under Treasurer of the Inn of Court
Location: Royal Courts of Justice, Belfast
The Inn of Court of Northern Ireland is a body which performs a variety of important functions in relation to the barrister profession in this jurisdiction.
These include determining the qualifications and training required by those seeking to be admitted as barristers; reviewing and approving applications from those seeking to be called to the Bar; and exercising various disciplinary functions including statutory obligations as described in the Legal Complaints and Regulation Act (2016) .
An opportunity has now arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to take up the opportunity of being Under Treasurer of the Inn of Court.
The role will require someone who will assist and support the work of the Inn of Court and its committees, bringing a high degree of organisational capability, attention to detail and personal integrity to bear.
Successful applicants must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience gained as either a barrister, solicitor or otherwise within the legal sector. This experience must include the interpretation and application of the rules related to a professional body and familiarity with the admission requirements for a regulated profession.
The role requires flexibility as the working pattern will fluctuate but is expected to equate to an average demand of 2 working days per week.
