NIJAC is inviting applications for the Social Security Commissioner and Child Support Commissioner
It is intended to make one appointment and to maintain a reserve list which will last for 12 months from the date of the first swearing in (but no more than 15 months from the published anticipated appointment date, 1 September 2025)
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the office of Social Security Commissioner you must be either:
a member of the Bar of Northern Ireland of at least ten years’ standing; or
a solicitor of the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland of at least ten years’ standing.
To be eligible for the office of Child Support Commissioner you must be either:
a member of the Bar of Northern Ireland of at least seven years’ standing; or
a solicitor of the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland of at least seven years’ standing.
As this is a joint office you are required to meet the higher eligibility criteria of ten years. Eligibility in terms of years’ standing will be determined by the anticipated date of appointment (1st September 2025).
Salary: £173,856 per annum. This post is pensionable.
